It seems as if Florentine's work had been building up to this movie the whole time - that the likes of Just when I thought that I would have to put up with substandard production values, stupid storylines, and talentless action scenes forever, along came director Isaac Florentine and gave us a break via this spectacular martial arts masterpiece. "Undisputed II" film is a godsend to the world of DTV cinema. Maybe he just isn't into hanging out with the freaks, or won't kiss their asses. They oughta call him, first, for the blockbusters, as far as I'm concerned. MJW deserves the top roles and he almost never gets them. But I REALLY wanted to see him get some payback at the end. And MAYbe the mafioso GAGA lets Chambers walk at the end. What happened to the manager had some authenticity. But this is the kind of classy move I want to see from my heroes. People sneer at the "formula," because it's not anti-hero enough or something. With the acting and fighting skills combo of these two, they really ought to give them 'A' support, before Father Time catches up to them.
In the re-match, it was full MMA, from low leg kicks to submission holds.Ĭonsidering how compressed the fighting scenes were in a generally hurried, but workmanlike story. They captured the MMA experience, bringing people who haven't seen it, before, a gentle intro to the sport. Would like to see both these lead actors get the bigger-budget productions, because if this is the quality of some of the fight scenes for low-budget. I think Snipes can do SOME, but they use a double for anything tough, because he's too 'valuable.' At least MJW _IS_ SPAWN.īoth he and his 'evil' counterpart Adkins, can make REAL action/fight scenes. But I hear that after Blade III, nobody wanted to work with the dude. Maybe if he acted more like a diva, like some others? I dunno. Snipes gets the better writers, and bigger budgets, but I think MJW's as good or better.
